Demineralised water is water that has been purified by removing substances that could contaminate it. It is produced by reverse osmosis and, throughout the process, is free of substances such as mineral salts, chlorine and other biological impurities. It leaves no scale or sediment.

Demineralised water is used in many fields, such as the chemical industry, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, aquaristics and also in analytical and photographic laboratories. Here are some examples of the use of demineralised water:
